The dream bird
According to Walter Benjamin:
"boredom is the dream bird that hatches the egg of experience. A rustling in the leaves drives him away. His nesting places--the activities that are intimately associated with boredom--are already extinct in the cities and are declining in the city as well."
So it's GOOD to be bored. Got it??

what, you can't be bored in a city?
W. B. Obviously doesn't know about the modern American po-dunk ciudad. (Scranton, Philadelphia, I'm lookin' at you).
and he's definately never seen a Taco Cabana. Man, that shit'd just make a bored man get delicious food (and maybe a lil' chunky).
point taken, though.
Anybody else think Tom is writing as often as he is because he's bored? Is the posting of this "dream bird" just a cry for help? A "blood curling scream at the sky" cry for help? (comment deleted)
I vote we ship mr. Criz back home for some r and r, to rid him of this ravenous raptor plaguing his own (somewhat bizarre) sanity. Or perhaps we should get him a wii?...
Is there anything else that can be said on the topic of a "dream bird?"
