Clowns trademark faces by painting them on eggs.
You may have seen the clown episode of Columbo wherein it is revealed that there is a registry of painted eggs used by clowns to trademark their appearances. I have long wondered whether this is true and whether the practice continues. I decided to look it up after watching an episode of Psychoville, a funny show by some of the creators of League of Gentlemen. I did indeed get my answer:

Truly, a great find.
I was surprised to see how many qeleshes made their way into the clown universe. I'm also surprised that there hasn't been any yoke spilt over this.
