Election Day!!!

AT LEAST down here, it feels like Christmas day. Not so much for actual presents . . . unless Obama sends me that 5000$ tax credit on healthcare. Except I don't actually pay for (or receive) healthcare.

Nina and I voted the day before Hallowe'd Eve, where Austin had made room for one of two mega-voting centres. But across the way from our front door, at the church, suckers are lining up.

Early voting in Texas is incredibly popular and easy, and they have excellent digital voting machines. Obviously a REpublican ploy to make sure Bush's votes got in asap.

Ye old Bro, Josh, called this morning after waiting 40 minutes in line (I think that's his polling place there), but it curled around the block, and he had to head to work. Democracy!!! Whereforeartthough? So, hopefully he can make it on his lunch break, or after work, if he's not too late!

What news from New Haven??? Be it voting excellence, with short lines, possibly featuring an array of delicious snacks, or perhaps the dreadful long lines? Let us know how it goes!!!

Even if Jill's deep-seeded Republican roots are forced through her hand by no will of her own, save her foot's contact on American soil. Let's hope there are more ivy democrats than snooty Connecticut elite!

Janes, cross your fingers (for the next four years)!

"Matthew," when did you start talking like Cory? At least you could bitch about Jill's American Citizenship in equal time. Stars. . . I wish i saw them.

"Jordan," you don't even have your own account? Total rook move.
However, stealing Matthew's? Easily done, but quite impressive.

You guys shouldn't take that vacation to California anytime soon . . . your excellent marriage will become instantly in-valid.

Jill, yeah, that's an awesome surprise. Unless it's for your family :(

Here's an awesome map that shows what Texas looks like. An intimidating sea of red.

So, besides a few rural counties, the only other ones that voted democratic were cities; Austin, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, and Dallas.
It was a close one in Harris co. 50/49!
They had a really low turnout, but they have a huge latino/black population, and are definitely getting more progressive. They resent Bush as much as anyone, I guess.
Ultimately, cities most everywhere went blue. Gotta love that.

Austin voted 64% for Obama . . . almost Danny numbers.

What's up with your retirement community? i guess there was some partying at the university?

$5000! Might as well start smoking if you can get that kind of money to cover health care.

I was kinda hoping Palin would get in just for the comedy. Clinton and W always kept people entertained, what's Obama gonna do govern responsibly? BORING!!!

Janes, how many days a week do you watch The View, btw?

Maybe if you answer that, you can throw in a bone about your current whereabouts, teaching career!

For the amount of time this guy spends on the computer, you'd think he'd be less of a ghost. But you'd be wrong.
Last I heard, Mike's working in a call centre.
