Buon compleanno, Tom!

The first of two birthdays this month, Tom is celebrating 27 years on the planet today. He decided to visit Super Mario World and to bring us all along for an exciting, and sometimes dangerous, adventure to save the princess Jill and get some cake!
As we walk through the sunny land, we discover that we are not hearing the familiar Mario theme playing from a distant broadcast but instead are listening to "Ebony and Ivory" by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. It must be the song that was #1 when Tom was born and gives us a false sense of harmony in these strange lands.
All of a sudden, Leelee Sobieski, that Helen Hunt look-alike actress, jumps in front of Tom and the rest of us! It turns out they were born in the same year and Leelee wants the cake all for herself! Thinking quickly, Tom stomps on her head and earns himself a few coins. But then, from out of a green tube pop Elizabeth Hurley (1965) and Judy Garland (1933), snapping with poison! Tom convinces Judy she's not only a far way from Kansas but from Oz as well and she walks off searching for red slippers. In the meantime, Janezy has charmed Elizabeth Hurley into joining our gang for some cake after telling her that HIS birthday is in two days. Prince Philip (1921) tries to sneak up behind as cake is his favourite food but Tom swiftly shoots fireballs at him, yelling, "We've already got a Philip!" Good thinking, Tom!
Finally, we reach the palace and after watching a tiring battle between Thursday's Child Tom (he has far to go!) and the Evil Bowser (pass the popcorn, Arielle!), the princess Jill is saved and we can all enjoy Tom's birthday cake, which are actually lots of little cupcakes. Luke takes a great picture of them before we devour them (see picture above) and we all join in together to say to Tom: Happy Birthday!
(Have a great day, birthday boy!)

Tom's birthday message is, of course, in Italian! hope it's a fun day for you today, Tom. And save me a cupcake!
No snubs from the Hudd! Happy birthday Tom!
Snubfree Hud, great stuff! Thanks Sue, you recounted the events of this day very accurately!
As the dozens of future comments come in, I reflect on my many positive qualities and will enjoy hearing them echoed in the well wishes of my fellow Huddlers.
Tom was actually singing Ebony & Ivory just the other day! Coincidence? Je ne crois pas.
One thing I know about Tom—he likes cake and video games. And he won Trivia for an early birthday present!
Bonne Fête!

Sorry for the late comment that will probably be read by nobody. At first I thought Sue's story was fiction but then I saw that Luke took a picture, now I'm not so sure. I hope I didn't embarass myself on the trip.
