The Legend that is Shooby Taylor
William "Shooby" Taylor (a.k.a. "The Human Horn") is "a little bit famous" for scat singing over various records, including Ink Spots, the Harmonicats and country gospel in a baritone voice. He is noted for his highly idiosyncratic scat style, using sounds and syllables quite unlike those used by other scat singers. He is most famously known for the 14 tracks he recorded in the early 1980's, at the now nonexistent Angel Sound Studios in Manhattan. These recordings began circulating among tape and file-swappers.
Sadly, Mr. Taylor passed away in 2003, completely obvlious to the near-fame and cult following he had accumulated over years. While his recordings are commercially unavailable, fans have now archived his genius on the World Wide Web, which can be found at:

I urge you all to listen to these tracks, in particular to "Stout-Hearted Man" and "How Great Thou Art", and pass the word along to all of your friends, so that the Legend, nay, the Genius that is Shooby Taylor will never be forgotten.

HaHAHa... well it does deserve to be heard. somewhere. like alone in your bedroom with the headphones on. that is hilarious.
a joke, right? aren't they just playing the song backwards?
Oh, this is no joke. This guy is dead serious about what he does. He actually studied Jazz vocals at a Music School somewhere in New York. Apparently no professional Jazz artist would ever work with him, for obvious reasons.
There's a video on the website of Shooby appearing at the Apollo Theatre...needless to say, he was booed off.
So yeah, not a joke. This, however, is:
Oh Holy Night
