Earthquake Weather!

10:30 pm, Oct. 22nd, Melbourne, Australia, there was experienced by jill and tom an...

EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!!!

What do you fools make of that?? That's right. According to Australian Earthquake News:

2006 October 22, Caulfield, Vic, ML 2.9
1236 UTC, 145.03°E, 37.87°S, normal depth [MEL]
(Sunday October 22, 10:36 pm AEST)
A small earthquake occurred beneath the suburb of Caulfield, about 8 km southeast of the city of Melbourne. It was felt in the southeast suburbs of Melbourne, including Clayton, St Kilda, Elsternwick and South Yarra, with some reports from beyond Dandenong. It was too small to cause any damage.

It took us a couple of days to process, since out internal organs were rearranged from the shock, and, although none of our pictures fell, we have no pictures, SO, it could have been disasterous, only our poverty saved us. Yessir, as the proud survivors of a minor shock, we would like to say we've rearranged our priorities and will now eat more take out food than before, work less, quite our jobs selling franks etc. Changes for the better, that's the name of the earthquake game.

Please report your pitiful (in comparison) experiences with the earthshaking force of movements of the earth below. Who but us has weathered the ol' 2.9? [What the janeses do behind closed doors is none of our business, unless you want to spill now you're out of the city??]

That's it, you've been in Australia too long. We can't have you guys down there risking your lives. First thing in the morning me, Capt. Bob and Tang are loading up the boat and coming to rescue you guys. Pack your bags, we'll be there in a few months. Tom don't quit your frank job, I'll be needing some franks asap when we arrive.

Both that post and cory's comment are gold.

Also, I'm annoyed that *I* haven't felt a lil rumble. There have been a couple off the coast while we've been here, and even some that people claim to have felt here near the city, but I certainly haven't felt anything. What a ripoff.

Priceless post & CButta's comments.

Cory, are you gonna have the Huddle on Capt. Bob's boat?
OH man, does anyone else long for the days when communication literally took months? hmmm, yeah, maybe not me either.

Earthquakes are crazystyles!! I'm sure everyone's heard this story, but when we first got to japan in summer 05, we were on the ground not 35 minutes, when a bus-shakin' quake rang out through Tokyo town.
I thought they were just loading it a little rough. But then i looked outside and saw a sign post bending crazystles back and forth. Oh well. Earthquakes are awesome.
What's up with all these Quakes, C-Riszle? Did Australia displease god recently? Perhaps something to do with Vegemite?

and I read the quake hit Melby town: only eight kilometres south east of the city's CBD

what's a CBD?!?!!???

P.S. what does Jill say, regarding the earthquake, where were ye at the time, and what does she say re: not having any pictures on the wall?

Q out

haha

Man, Cros. do you feel as though this blog has forced you into a Rodney Dangerfield impression?

Do you feel that your frightening and intriguing encounter with an Earthquake has gone largely unnoticed?

Who are these people who claim to be members of this blog, and yet, have nothing to say on the subject of two of our own being caught inside a real live Earthquake???

I'm looking at everyone who didn't comment. . .

well, we'll comment enough for everyone!

your earthquake was sweet, by the sounds of it. phil's experiences in okinawa were earthquake free, hence his disdain to comment. sure he never even got a hattori hanzo....

luke, check this out, he's potentially your cup o tea:
