Origins of the Watchmen

I know there are some fellow Watchmen fans among the huddlas who will enjoy this:

The origins of the Watchmen.

I kept razzing Jacob when he was in Toronto blissfully watching Batman (which, as you probably recall, features a Watchmen trailer before the film) that he would similarly miss the Watchmen next summer when he's back in Albania. For me, that'd be a deal breaker.

Friday Night Movie Club

Man, those were the days, right? Well, the Tuesday Night version.

After much digging, finally found the only actually amazing trailer for QoS-007. Looks like a special Hallow e'en treat.

That's John McCLame getting schooled by Letterman/Shaffer.

AAaaaaaaaaakkkkkwaaard.

If you're a glutton for punishment, there's more.

Breithlá sona duit, Steve!

Pass around the Irish-themed cake, it's Hinchey's birthday today! In the ole' Emerald Isle on his day of birth, the bonny nurses were listening to the number one hit on the radio, "Pass the Dutchie" by Musical Youth. Back home in North America, they were jigging to "Jack & Diane" by John Cougar (he was in his non-Mellencamp phase).

Born on a Sunday, Steve unbelievably (and very accurately) was "...the child that is born on the Sabbath day/ Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay." So there you have it folks!

Famous people who share this fabulous birthday are: Mario Lopez (1974), Tanya Tucker (1958), and Giuseppe Verdi (1813)!

If you see the red-haired birthday boy today, make sure to wish him a year full of happy times and offer to buy him a beer at his favourite pub. All the best to ye, Steve! There's a (non-Irish themed) birthday card in the mail for ye.

Thanksgiving Weekend Road Trip

Start: Toronto
End: West Haven

Route: 899 km, through such world-class cities as Kingston, Syracuse, and the once-proud hockey town of Hartford! Also, the semi-famous changing of the leaves in New England should be in full force this weekend, so hopefully we'll have some photogenic scenery for the trip. I'm predicting 10 hours on the road, which includes a lunch stop.
