Save me....

Why do I bother having faith in people?... I mean, sure, he's a hard character to write for, even I can appreciate that. But, why do I bother continuing to follow a character that, so continuously and so often, lets me down. Games, movies, television shows. I feel that I can no longer say that I enjoy the character with the exception of a few story lines, but instead have to say that I HATE it, with the exception for a few, rare gems. I think that THIS truly is, the death of Superman.

My spidey-sense is tingling. . .

and i've got a year to wait, and a Superman movie to endure(?) in the meantime.

So, don't blow your load, but here it is: Spiderman3 teaser

"I'll Bite"

This fool loved that last post.

But who's spitting the venomous verse?

He's white, he raps in Melbourne, and he goes by the moniker:

numerical bean

Venomous Verse

When I'm not listening to venomous verses I get to thinking ONE thing:

when the hay is Jacobz going to watch Superman??? Isn't it out and getting slammed by Ebert????? Where's the defence??

Here's some more fonts for your silly assssess...

Number three (for Janezhaxor).

Ciao huddlers....

Happy, Sad, Cry, Fight!

Thank goodness for the ever famous and wonderful K-FED (a.k.a the worst rapper ever/ Brit's hubby/loser)! He has made it a personal crusade to save America's one-cent coin (although not in any real danger of leaving our pockets anytime soon). He was seen wearing an Abe Lincoln mask and quoted saying "Man, I feel good about the penny!"
I do have to say amidst it all it is for a good cause -- although a strange crusade. The money collected on that day (preferably pennies) will go to kids in need in the long run of it all. Although, I have to say perhaps...Just perhaps K-Fed is not the best choice when looking for a well-spoken spokesperson. You know how it is to be famous -- everyone wants to know about you life -- like your fourth baby and your (second) woman, Brittany -- what is what...So while Brit was on Dateline, Kevin was asked about his feelings on the married life and all.

Federline said (word for word):

"She's so supportive, she, from the first time I went in and started recording she was there. She was pregnant and everything, she was right there

NOW HERE COMES THE MONEY SHOT -----

The 28-year-old father of three also talked about his feelings regarding the media's, um, interpretation of his marital and career aspirations.

"I have feelings, and hurt--happy, sad, cry, fight--all that, everything. It's no different than nobody else," he said.

And, according to K-Fed, he's been saving those pennies.

"I have been paying for everything out of my pocket," he told Access Hollywood, as NBC cut back to Spears saying: "You know, he has children now that he wants to support and not just let it be all me. He's a man. I think it’s very important to him that he is doing his own thing."

When AH caught up with him at Wednesday's Penny Awareness event and asked about his perspective on Spears' prime-time appearance, he told the crew he wasn't there to talk about it, but offered this instead:

(I just LOVE his closing -- how sincere!)

"My family is great if that's what you're asking. My family is wonderful, always. Virgin Mobile, baby!"

So, I leave you with this thought provoking question: Should the penny stay or should it go -- or better yet -- should K-Fed go?

See this TV-Series!

For those of you who are not currently "in the know", there will be four hours of awesomeness premiering tomorrow night (Wednesday the 28th) on Spike TV, which will return (mind-you, in a one-hour format) on a weekly basis every wendesday thereafter.

The question is, however, WILL it be awesome? Or will it be 4-hours of pre-pubescant garbage filled with nothing more than explosions and boob-teases (not that there's anything WRONG with explosions and boob-teases, of course). First off, it IS Spike TV airing the series, which is already strike numero uno. Second, the guy playing Blade goes by the name Sticky Fingaz, and is a rapper that many people have never heard of. Good thing, or Bad thing?

Will I give it a chance? Fuckin' right I will. It's Vampires, after all. Who knows, maybe in the future Blade will expand his portfolio into the ZOMBIE-killing business too...I might just jizz myself if that happened....

You Work too much, apparently.

Nina's dad likes to say that a task will fill the time allowed to it. That is if you put a time limit on your doing the dishes -say 10 mins.- you will get it done in that amount of time. You won't get them done if you plot for 30 seconds, but it will take less time than an untimed chore: where you half do the dishes/half watch tv, listen to the radio, 'ooops, forgot to get the mail,' 'hey, who scored?' Say what now about some dishes?

I was thinking about how hilarious our work week/year really is. In North America (well, Northern and Central-North America), pompous business people pride themselves on pumping in long hours. 9 to 5? Please. Here in the South, it's long been practise to start early to avoid the heat. But, when the Mexicans adopted the Spanish Siesta, and went back to work in the early evening, we just barrel on through like morons. The common work week here in Texas is now 8 to 5. Surprised? if you are, you should know Nina gets at school at by 7:15/30, for classes that start at 7:45. Getting in "early" to work means 7.
So, with all this in mind, I nearly burst out laughing at this article today that said:
The average Canadian worked 1,751 hours in 2004. That's about 300 hours — or 43 seven-hour days — more than the Dutch, Germans, French or Danes.
Yet based on total economic output, adjusted by population and purchasing power, Canada's gross domestic product is very similar to that of many European countries, and below some.
The Irish, for example, work 6 per cent fewer hours, on average, yet the economic output per person beats ours by 14 per cent.
Ouch.
And the worst part is we're basically just fucking ourselves (as anyone who's studied organizational communication will tell you), because individuals don't understand how to conduct a basic meeting in a timely fashion. We're completely wasting our time, when we should be enjoying our leisures: to LOOK productive.
Some other cool things:
"Schonning, a Swede, said as a father of two children, he also gets as much as a year off, at 80 per cent pay, per youngster. Though the mother and father decide how to divvy up the time, dad must take at least two months off work per child." "Canadians could actually work fewer hours and it wouldn't make much of a dent in our GDP. And you'd have healthier workers."

"'Long working hours not only fail to promote efficiency, but may also increase the likelihood of people making mistakes,'"

"Economists have found that every significant step that was taken (historically) to reduce working time was accompanied by a sharp increase in productivity."

And, by the way, we're working hard for what? $2.6 million for pins, magnets: N.L. auditor says
(those fuckers).

So, I'm movin' to Europe. who's coming with?

See this documentary!

Just returned from seeing An Inconvenient Truth and it was simply amazing. Please please please do yourselves a favor and see it. It is so fascinating an such an eye opener that you will probably be pondering ways to reduce your carbon emissions before you've left the theatre. It was brilliant.

What the Faak?

Just reading the latest about the Newfoundland Legislature overspending scandal.

This is some big deal. But, anyone with ears in St. John's has heard the whisperings before: 10,000$ doors at Brian Tobin's office, the crooked Liquor Corporation's massive overspending on new office digs, 2,000$ lunches. (Makes you wonder why the buying and selling of Liquor is under Governmental control afterall). All this stuff is an unceccessary, criminal abuse of power. It is theft from the taxpaying people of Newfoundland. Consider this:

Noseworthy's audit found Byrne had signed and submitted claims for $358,142 during the 2003 and 2004 fiscal years, or more than $326,000 above his $31,500 limit.
That's 10 times the allotted amount. Read more here. So who wants their money back?

A BYOBB BBBQ!!! (we all knwo what the extra B's stand for...)

For those of you who are in St. John's, or WILL be in St. John's (I've honestly lost track of where everybody is at the moment) this Saturday, feel free to pop by my house starting around 6:30ish for a BBBQ.....bring your own meat/booze/desserts/whatever. I'll be making some chicken legs and/or wings and/or breasts, but there probably won't be enough to go around. If I feel up to it, I might even make some of my infamous beercan chicken...by "up to it" i mean "If I can afford to spring for a couple of chickens".

Anyways, yes it WILL be populated by my weird "music" friends, so feel free to bring whoever you want...what's Hinchey up to these days? THAT'd be weird...

So as far as I can figure... I'm famous

I neglected to mention, but as some of you know, I am a newly initiated Disc-Jockey (that's DJ to you) on the local college radio station here in San Marcos. That's right. I'm on the radio. I figure that pretty much makes me the most famous person you know. I don't play my own music (yet) but at 10, 30 and 50 past the hour 8:30-10:30 NL time, (okay, those times only work for Central time (6-8) so it's 8:40, 9:00 and so on), you can hear me talk on the internet. It's me and a guy named Sean. . . who seems like a pretty nice guy.
Go to
KTSW.net and click "listen live" at the top right.

I can't vouch for the music, and I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's Monday Night, so you might as well check it out.

Spirit Bears

In the wonderful world of Vancouver, we are exposed to many delightful things, including various forms of art. The latest thing to catch our eyes are the Spirit Bears. Instead of fumbling on my own words to describe the project, I shall instead directly quote them:

"Local artists, in partnership with sponsoring individuals or organizations, will create a unique design and apply it to the surface of a life size (approx. 7ft) custom formed fiberglass Spirit Bear. The Bear becomes the artist's canvas. Once the work is complete, the Spirit Bear will be displayed in prominent public spaces around the participating cities with the majority being placed in Vancouver's downtown business core. A 'Spirit Bear Trail Guide' will be created and distributed throughout participating communities."

Philip and I have seen many of these bears whilst out and about and decided to share a few with you all. Here, then, are the Spirit Bears we ran into today while roaming downtown!

Then, of course, are the sweetest bears of all:

Impressed? You can find more Spirit Bears here!

Terrible News

It's with great regret that I have to inform you all that everyone's favorite ancient Egyptian themed hotspot in downtown St. John's has closed. Yes, The Fifth Element is no more. I went there last eve only to find a for rent sign in the window. If anyone would like to join me in raising some money to reopen it they should contact me immediately, together we can do it!

The reason I went there was to get some 15 cent wings after work but they were closed, they I went to Jungle Jims to get some half price wings but they were closed (for the night). I ended up walking home wingless and defeated, it was honestly the worst night of my life to date.

GO OILERS!!!!!!

Ten G's

To commemorate this post, here's some musical accompaniment to move you along, a great song- (open it in a new window): Van Helsing Boombox by Man Man.

Okay, here we go:
Word to yer mother> yesterday, if anyone's keeping track, the Huddle done hit the 10, 000 mark. Boo-ya! LIke that? Ten G's my brothas and sistahs. 10 Grand. Sweet. And that's not counting my visits. Bring it! So, either we're just really liking the website, or there are a bunch of creepy voyeurs out there who like to hang on the edge of Coco Butter's every move. (READ: Pedophiles). Probably a bit of both. Right? Although, if anyone can successfully identify our original masked anonymous commenter, they will win a lifetime supply of tostados (chips)- complements of T-Crizz.

Pooky G (as some of you know) is our unofficial feline mascot (Smithers would be our Canine rep. were he not completely retarded). Pooky is a nice cat, but in this picture, she is angry, and wants to eat you. She just came in from rolling around in the dirt. Notice her white face, and "dirt"-y furry torso. Gooooo Pookster!

Anyway, I'm so glad that all hands are into the Huddle & in honour of such news-worthy accomplishments, here's some weird news I found today.

A Disturbing story about Circumcision- (did you know most men down here are bible-sliced?: that's what I'll call it).

A more disturbing story: Duff promise not So Yesterday.

And a really interesting (and almost well-written) read about St. John's sign names and their origins.

Post or comment if you've got some interesting news/video/music you'd like to contribute in honour of this event. Hope you enjoy the tunes/links Word!

My Brother's havin' a Bash. . .

Just passing along the info for those of you in the vincinity. Should be a good time, as themed parties go, (while paling, obviously, in comparison with Jacock's).

Here's the info:
Summer starts early at Swilers Rugby Club with a Black and White Party hosted by the Commerce Class of 2007 Council
Friday, June 16th, 8PM.
Dress in all white, all black, or your fave combo of the 2 shades to really take advantage of the many surprises council has in store.

Stay tuned for news of BIG Heineken beer specials, other Molson product specials, and prize giveaways!!!
This won't be your grandparents' party, so bring your friends for the kick-off of the summer party season!!!

Happy Birthday Micheal!

I'm assuming it's your birthday now or soon. I don't have much to offer you, only this bit of advise. Around the workplace call all girls "sweetcheeks", trust me just try it. Hopefully we'll get to see you someday soon, Friday my friend is hosting a party where he and his band will be playing some metal, should be sweet. Sundays we normally play poker, be there!

Just for Janezegamma

A pleasant picture of our (very) late-night eateries. (Crizelby seen desiring sleep in his swank attic at A. Andy's). I had the fish cakes & a Guiness, purchased by ours truly, the birthday boy- Janesy himself. Cros had a coffee and ordered a "blow job" shot. Go figure. Thanks Janesy!

And here you go: some guy plays the Rite of Spring on a "4 hands"? piano. Big finish!

Hope you have an appy Birthday Sir! and that it's a drunken debauchery for all to enjoy~

coming home?

Just want to get an idea of when/if people are going to be back this summer. I've heard rumblings of July for Phil/Sue and also July for San Quinton. What about everyone else? Confirm it here bitches.

Continuing with the "photographic" birthday theme...

Tom, here are my birthday gifts to you. I apologize I couldn't send them yesterday, the actual date of your birthdate, but I was out the entire day. (also, I'm a douchebag, but that needs no explaining).

The first is a picture of Gentle Ben (a.k.a. SuperPoochie), who I'm sure miss you more than your own brother.

Next, we have another picture of Gentle Ben (a.k.a WonderPup), this time alongside my drunk and contrary father.

And finally, here is a "candid" picture I took of Matthew (Sr.) one day, during one of my monthly trips to Burin, where I take pictures of (weird) things like this.

Bah...one more. A guy with an accordion on his head. (taken last summer during the Accordion Revolution in Bannerman Park, in which nearly 1,000 Newfoundlanders, accordions a-blazin', simultaneously played Mussels in the Corner, in various keys and tempos, for five straight minutes. What a delight!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YA FREE-LOADING BASTARD!!

Egophotos as birthday gifts

By virtue of the iSight in my new MacBook, my birthday gift to both Thomas and Michael are photos of yours truely, with a twist.

My face has really filled out:

I have also experimented with an afro:

Finally, Andy Warhol and I sat down for a session:

Have enjoyable anniversaries of days of birth!

Tom wants to be with the Common People.

And Oh, what a Simpler time it was: beer, babes, and the C-man. This Spring, Jill & T-Crizz (and Mr. and Mrs. S) were so kind enough to have us down to Houston town for some gallery viewin' and ale-drinkin'! Soo sweet. here' s a pic or two from that wonderful exploit with our newly purchased pint Glasses, and our fresh & sweetly delicious ales. Yummmm.

My Gift to You. . .

Tom had (has?) a small fixation on Joe Jackson in the early 21st Century. Our frequent drives out to Holyrood we were accompanied by his Live compact disc and the wondrous tunes therein. And in homage to such journeys, my Gift to the Cros: William Shatner, Ben Folds, and the real Joe Jackson. Live, for your viewing pleasure. Click the photo to your left. This will LITERALLY blow your mind! It is that good. Boo-ya!
Feliz Cumpleanos, Amigo!

Happy Birthday!

I can't believe it's the Tom's birthday and he's not in the 709 to celebrate. Well happy birthday big fella and hopefully we'll get to see you soon. The only thing I can offer is to advise you to download (or buy I suppose) some Rhymefest. He's also out the Chi and has some sweet tracks particularly his new single "Brand New" feat Kanye. I saw him host Rapcity a few days ago, I couldn't believe Rapcity still came on without Master T. I also have a little gift for Jill http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/2006/06/09/cat-bear.html, I'm sure she'll enjoy it.

A year ago today...

We had a huge bash at casa P-Rinse for ol Crisbird. A jolly good bash if ever there was one. Not only were there lots of cool people, but great food too. I included a couple images to give a better idea of what it was like. If you didn't want a bbq before this picture, you're gonna want to have one after…. Then finish it up with an ice cream cake. This was also the day we discovered bbq bacon mmmm. Anywho, have a good B Day down in M Town T Criz!

PS. I don't know if you've been keeping track of Zelda, but here are a bunch of images of the new game. Have a birthday break and blow your brains while looking at these. Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Tom

This is all for you. GTA: Liberty Stories is out for PS2. GTA IV will be out October 2007.

Happy Birthday Tom or "Alms for the Cros"

Happy Birthday, our Austalian Friend!
For those who might have forgotten, it is probably Tom's Birthday right now, seeing as how them Australiers got their days all confused. So apparently, Crizelby decided he'd celebrate Aussie-style: Shrimp on the Barbie, surrounded by dingoes and Kangeroos, with a feast of Outback Vegemite. Spraying stenciled graphitti on the building housing the coffeeshop that refused to make his Soy Late- with Milk. Crizleby loves his milk. MMMMMNNNMMM.

So, the Proposal:
Because, I highly doubt anyone thought to mail anything to the South Pacific for our man in Melbourne (*myself included), and we know how T-man loves his kooky gifts, here is my suggestion:
In honour of a gentleman who contributes so much (and so often) to the Huddle, everyone here is asked (dis)respectfully to submit, to the Huddle, any thing which you think our man of peculiar and refined tastes might enjoy.
"What?" you say. Perhaps it's a video of some unusual Australian ritual, an mp3 he can hum along the garden path of Fitzroy, or a text reference to Patrick White, the beleagured Australian author he enjoys so much. Perhaps it's a little Po-em or painting, a picture, or a picture of an obscure painting. Or maybe you've got some inside information on Michael Mann, or the latest update in Grand Theft Autodom. I mean, it doesn't really matter- the more obscure the better. That's how he likes it. Right Crizzzls?

So, Friends, that is my proposal. Present your offering by Midnight June 10, NL time (that's only fair), be it in comment, or Post form. If this works, Janesey's is right around the bend. Good Luck! We await everyone's "Alms for the Cros."

Yeah, so we saw it.

The Da Vinci Code that is.

Who saw this movie? Was it not 1) boring 2) un-mystery-like 3) suffering from terrible music?

They tried to win you over at the end, but it didn't work. No sir. And, (Harvard Symbologist) Robert Langdon gets re-cast as a sketic- WTF?

The best part of the Da Vinci Code? : The (wicked) Preview for Miami Vice!

A Wonderful Gift

A few weeks ago I received an awesome house warming gift from my good friend Cory. Not only was this a generous gift, but also thoughtful (who wouldn't want a life size photo of EVERYBODY'S favorite baseball player, C man himself). Unfortunately the joy that this present brought was short lived after I was dealt the horrible news that, due to the extreme rarity of the "card", and the fact that it was sporting the Jays 1987's Most Enthusiastic Player, the "gift" was actually only a lending for a few weeks. But the few weeks that the future historic artifact spent in my room, above my mantle were cherished to the last second. Just thought I'd post this

to make you to make you all jealous.

What an Awesome movie

Everytime Luke talks about something on this site I usually just assume that that thing is really lame but now he may actually be on to something. I'm of course talking about Parkour which Luke wrote about a while back. I obviously didnt't watch the link because Luke posted it, but apparently Parkour is what is featured in the action film District B13 and according to wikipedia the star of District B13 is the inventor of Parkour. Good work Luke, maybe I'll actually start reading your posts and comments from now on. By the way myself and Jacob saw District B13 today and we both agree that it is the movie of the summer so far and I'm sure it will only be challenged by Miami Vice. We knew we were in for a good movie when the girl at the box office warned "you know it's in French right?" I did not, but was happy to hear it. If/when you go see it be sure to stick around for the credits which feature some kickass french rap by DA Octopuss. Tom we missed you today when we went to Wendy's before the movie, for a hang over breakfast, and to Subway after.

Clear a few things up...

Here's a sweet post that you've all been waiting for, get ready...

i gots to bold this it's so sweet. aight, listen up: i got lots to say, and you'll all love it. so here it is...

anyhoo, that picture of me throwing the horseshoe, have a good look. i got a ringer. just so everyone gets that straight. here's how it looked after i threw it: note how it formed a double ringer with the 'shoe i threw immediately before it. now, second of all, jill and mel and I have recently returned from a very wonderful trip to the fair unhalifaxlike city of adelaide (anything that isn't complete crap is unhalifaxlike--just to clear that up). it was very excellent, extremely stupendous. we saw some wild kangaroos, went to the zoo, talked about abby, the usual. same ol', but nevertheless sweet.

there was a tasmanian devil going sick pacing around his pen. the zoo is pretty ghettoized, so you can pretty much step over the low wall and take it easy with the animal of your choice, which i should have done, but, to clarify, i did not in fact do so, and was instead content to watch. it was so sweet.

now, i've been clearing a few misconceptions up on the posts that i was unable to comment on, because, like mr jr, i feel it is important that i'm all over the huddle. ALL over. so now you're homework is to enjoy all the witty things i wrote (matthew is exempt because he'll get jealous and lash out at those around him). now, to clear up a few more things: miami vice is going to be wicked... looks like that's all i got....

this post was definately sweet though... we'll all agree to that!

Anyway, American Express Commercial, Here We Go

Friends, I have been witholding this work of art for a few weeks now, but it has been long enough, and I must now give it away to the outside world. So, lucky you, dear reader.

Lucky you.

Oh, & this archival film footage is also of some interest, complements of your friend and mine, Mondo Monda.

I bid you adieu,
Cordialement, je suis votre,
Sr. L.R.L Quintonius

Rio, Brazil, Le 2 Juin 2006

[EDIT]: Is this Not the best commercial you have ever seen in your whole frikin' life?

Fuck you Sony.

After accepting the fact that my previous PS2 had seen it's last action, and a couple attempts to bitch at Sony, I was forced to go out and upgrade to the new slim PS2 tonite. It's remarkable to insert a disc and have it load immediately, rather than taking 20 minutes to repeatedly open and close, and reset the machine in hopes of bypassing its shitiness and tricking it to actually read the game. Reminds me of the constant blowing into the NES and its cartridges, probably reminds Cory of the constant blowing he administers to any willing male partner.

So thank you Sony, not only was my $500 not good enough for my first PS2, he's another $100. I hope the PS3 is a fucking gigantic Turbo Grafix 16-esque catastrophe.
